2026: Gov. Oyebanji Gets Endorsement From Kinsmen For Second Term

In what can be seen as political ground work ahead of 2026 governorship election in Ekiti state, indigenes of Ipole-Iloro, an integra part of Ekameta Local Council Development Area(LCDA) have endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for another four years.

The endorsement came on Sunday during the new year get together party organized for all Ipole-Iloro indigenes in Ado-Ekiti at Dave hotel, Adebayo road, Ado-Ekiti. The get together was organized by one of the prominent sons of Ipole-Iloro who is also a grassroot politician and successful pharmacist, Hon. Peter Ajayi popularly called APRO.

Mr Ajayi in an interview with Heritagenewsng.com reporter hailed Governor Oyebanji for his excellent performance in office which prompted his kinsmen to endorse him for another four years.

He stated further that the endorsement is a clear indication that the governor is good at home and his people are proud of his giant strides in office.


He said, ” if you look round you will see that our Governor is performing excellently well. In every area in terms of health sector, education and infrastructure, our able governor has scored one hundred percent.

“And when we are talking about the welfare of civil servants, our amiable Governor has scored excellently well in that area. The Governor’s excellent performance motivates me to move round my community and talk to them.

“When you look at what is happening today, majority of my people are in support of another term for the governor because of his giant strides. He has convinced everybody even opposition party members”

When asked if the endorsement of the Governor is not too early, he has this to say,

“The endorsement of the Governor is not too early at this time. Let’s look at it in this way, you have a child and he is performing well, when you look at the report card of your child and you see that he became first it will motivate you to push him for something higher. Our Governor has done well and there is need to give him more time to finish the good work he has started. We are now warming up for 2026”

The endorsement of the governor was witnessed by the Chairman of Ekameta LCDA, Dr. Leye Adeniji, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Relations, Mr Diran Fadipe and other prominent sons and daughters of Ipole-Iloro.
