Rt. Hon. Hakeem Jamiu’s re-election bid gathered significant momentum on Monday as stakeholders in Iro Quarters, Igbemo-Ekiti, unanimously echoed their support, declaring that his performance in office clearly justifies another term.
The former Deputy Speaker and current member representing Irepodun/Ifelodun Constituency II in the Ekiti State House of Assembly visited the community as part of his ongoing consultations ahead of the APC primaries, following an invitation from local leaders.
Jamiu was received by a large turnout of enthusiastic youths and women, who repeatedly affirmed that “his track record speaks,” describing him as a representative whose actions have consistently matched his promises.
One after another, community stakeholders praised his years of service, emphasizing that his tenure has been marked by visible development, impactful projects, and sustained engagement with the grassroots.
They highlighted his efforts in youth empowerment, job facilitation, and infrastructural support, noting that his contributions have positively affected Igbemo and surrounding communities.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, Mr. Odunayo Olaiya said Jamiu’s integrity and sincerity distinguish him from others. According to him, the lawmaker’s honesty and ability to deliver on commitments have earned him the trust of the people.
The Igbemo Ward Women Leader, Mrs. Funke Adeleye, alongside Mr. Sola Owolabi and Mr. Kayode Babalola, reinforced this position, describing Jamiu as transparent, straightforward, and dependable.
Further echoing the sentiment, Mr. Dauda Bello stated that Jamiu’s credibility remains unquestionable. “He is a man who will not mislead you or make empty promises. What he says is what he does,” he said.
The stakeholders collectively called on party members and residents to rally behind Jamiu in the forthcoming APC primaries, stressing that continuity is essential to sustain ongoing development.
They noted that with other political actors seeking higher offices, it is important for Igbemo to retain strong and effective representation at the state level.
Responding, Jamiu expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support and reaffirmed his commitment to delivering even greater dividends of democracy if re-elected.
He urged party faithful to remain focused and disregard speculations about any consensus arrangement, emphasizing that the party has adopted direct primaries.
He also encouraged registered APC members to come prepared with their membership slips for the May 20 primaries, while thanking the community for the massive turnout and unwavering confidence in his leadership.
