..Charges INEC to improve efficiency

The World Peace Programme of Diplomatic Mission, one of the international organizations that monitored the recently concluded presidential election in Nigeria says the poll fairly meets the expectations of most citizens and denizens of the country.
The WPP Director General Prof Olumuyiwa Babalola,who is also the Director General of the World Peace Organization (WPO) said this during a press briefing in Abuja, while reviewing the February 25th Nigerian Presidential poll.
According to him, many of the electorate were angry and frustrated with the results, while some others are celebrating victories, which they believed were hard-fought and well -earned.
He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to promptly address the challenges faced in the election in preparation for a fairer process ahead the March 11 gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.
He said it was important for INEC to up its operations by undertaking a broader review of the problems that transpired during the last elections and what can be done to fix them, as well as promptly sharing with the Nigerian publics, the information about the actions the electoral umpire would be taking.
The University Don commended Nigerians for their commitment to establish and making democracy work.
He congratulated the Nigeria President-elect, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing his victory as a renewed hope for Nigeria’s collective prosperity and a road map to global reckoning amidst the comity of nations.
Prof. Olumuyiwa commented candidates of other political parties for allowing peace in accordance with peace accord they signed prior to the poll.
