São Paulo, April 16, 2025 – In an event filled with emotion, ancestry, and innovation, the African Cultural Center officially launched the project “The Adventures of the Young Adekunle” on April 15 at the prestigious IED Gallery – Istituto Europeo di Design, in São Paulo.

The evening was dedicated to celebrating Afro-Brazilian identity and strengthening educational and social initiatives aimed at children and adolescents. The project, which blends storytelling, cultural experiences, and educational content inspired by the philosophy of Ifá and African traditions, was warmly applauded by authorities, intellectuals, artists, educators, and community representatives.

Conceived by Kabiesi Oba Adekunle Aderonmu, president of the African Cultural Center, the project aims to shape young protagonists through values such as respect, wisdom, community, and ancestry.

“With this project, we are offering more than knowledge: we are restoring identity, belonging, and pride to our youth. ‘The Adventures of the Young Adekunle’ is a path of transformation and empowerment for the whole community,” declared Kabiesi during the ceremony.

The event featured a special program, including live music, poetic performances, an exhibition of the project’s illustrations, and the launch of the first educational materials, which will be distributed in public schools, cultural centers, and partner social organizations.

The IED Gallery space was carefully prepared to welcome the audience in an environment that blended art, education, and tradition. The visual curation highlighted elements of Yoruba culture and contemporary African aesthetics, creating a vibrant and welcoming setting.

“The Adventures of the Young Adekunle” already has scheduled events in other Brazilian cities and aims to reach more than 5,000 children and adolescents by the end of 2025.
