My attention has been drawn to a publication in some dailies and other Platforms in Nigeria by the UNICEF_ Nigeria against I, Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan alleging a scam of fundraising for the People of Ukraine through my verified Instagram handle @hon_falegan_official_
I want to state categorically that, the fundraising was neither Fraud nor Scam as all funds raised by every Individual and other Organisations go directly into the UNICEF main body account and at thesame time can be verified by visiting @unicef for the war victms in Ukraine.
I made a fundraiser for @unicef which was directly an Instagram link from @unicef platform, anybody can go to @unicef page and share the fundraising link on their pages and all transactions will be directly linked to @unicef.
I was able to raise 61 pounds from my followers/ participants/ donators which was directly credited to @unicef and acknowledged by @unicef for the war victims in ukraine. And it was totally displayed for everyone to see and very transparent.
It is unfortunate that, an Organ of main UNICEF like UNICEF_Nigeria which I have never had any transaction with in my life can jump into the conclusion without verify such transaction from its main body account by dishing out false , disparaging and libellous information against me to the public through some dailies and other Platforms.
“For the sake of clarity, I want to again state that, I only dealt with @unicef because I dn’t live in Nigeria and is verifiable”.
Also, it is so unfortunate that, major newspapers to include Punch can publish such malicious and damaging information that tagged me as a Scammer without investigating such information first but rather rely on fabricated and shoddy information from uninformed UNICEF_Nigeria.
The hatchet write up by the UNICEF_Nigeria and its Sponsors has not only portrayed I, Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan as a Scammer in the Public alone but it has deprecate my untainted image in Ekiti State, Nigeria and Worldover.
The write up has resulted to all my phone lines and social handles to be inundated with calls and text mesagaes from family Members, Fans, Colleagues, Religious Leaders, Traditional Rulers, political Associates and Friends among others within and outside Nigeria.
To this end, I want to give UNICEF_Nigeria and all the newspapers and Bloggers involved 72hours which starts from 11th April, 2022 to retract the Article or get ready to defend themselves on the false allegation and defamation of character against me in the Court of law inorder to clear my name and that of my reputable family.
