Police Uncover Baby Factory in Ekiti, Rescue Six Children, Arrest Five Suspects

The Ekiti State Police Command has uncovered and dismantled an illegal baby factory operating in Ikere-Ekiti, rescuing six children believed to be victims of child exploitation and arresting five suspects in connection with the crime.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Joseph Eribo, disclosed this on Tuesday during a press briefing at the Command Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, while highlighting major security breakthroughs recorded by the Command through sustained intelligence-led operations.

According to CP Eribo, the rescued children, whose ages range between two and nine years, were allegedly being held for illegal activities linked to child trafficking and exploitation. He said the operation was carried out following credible intelligence, leading to the arrest of five suspects at the facility.

The police boss described the discovery as part of the Command’s broader efforts to clamp down on organised crimes and protect vulnerable members of society, particularly children.

CP Eribo noted that the baby factory bust was among several successful operations recently carried out by the Command, which also led to the arrest of 44 suspects for various offences including armed robbery, burglary, child exploitation, cattle rustling and stealing.

He assured that thorough investigations were ongoing and that all suspects connected to the baby factory and other criminal activities would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
