Ooni Of Ife Visits Alawe, Commends Him On His Quality Performance During His Tenure As Ekiti Obas Chairman

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty , Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi OJAJA 2, has commended the leadership quality and dynamic performance of the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti His Royal Majesty Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi AFUNTADE 1 during his tenure as the Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers from August 2019 – July 2021.
Oba Ogunwusi gave the commendation on Tuesday, 14th December 2021 during a visit to the Alawe in his palace in Ilawe Ekiti stressing that the Alawe is endowed with wisdom and sagacity by God which he exhibited to the whole world during his tenure as the Chairman of Ekiti Obas.

” At a particular traditional Rulers meeting with President Buhari in Abuja, Alawe spoke on behalf of all Obas from the Southwest and his speech was greeted with thundering ovation and acceptability ” the Ooni recalled. During his visit to the Alawe which was attended by Olori Abimbola Alabi and members of the Alawe In Council, the foremost Yoruba monarch asked Ilawe people, Ekiti State and the Federal government to tap from the wealth of experience of the Alawe.

Oba Ogunwusi narrated the ancient affinity of Ilawe Ekiti to Ile Ife and promised to always involve Ilawe in special traditional activities of Ife.

Earlier, the Alawe, HRM Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi AFUNTADE I had commended the leadership role of Oba Ogunwusi among Yoruba Obas in Nigeria and in the diaspora. The Alawe expressed his gratitude to the Ooni of Ife for his quick intervention during the brotherly misunderstanding among Ekiti Obas during his tenure as the Chairman of Ekiti state Council of traditional Rulers. Oba Alabi who thanked the Ooni for his visit further reiterated the love and support of Ilawe people for the Ooni.
