Motion For a Vote of Confidence and Endorsement of Gov. Oyebanji, BAO For Second Term
Your Excellencies, The State Ag. Chairman, Distinguished Members of the Caucus,
I, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye, a bonafide member of this distinguished caucus by virtue of my position as the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, rise this afternoon to move a motion of utmost importance concerning the leadership of our great state, Ekiti, under the able stewardship of our dear Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
Whereas, Governor Biodun Oyebanji has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities characterized by integrity, dedication, and a deep commitment to the welfare and development of Ekiti State;
Whereas, his sterling performance in governance has resulted in remarkable infrastructural development, enhanced security, improved healthcare, education reforms, and overall socio-economic growth in the state;
Whereas, his peaceful and inclusive approach to leadership has fostered unity among various stakeholders and has created an environment conducive to sustainable development;
Whereas, the various stakeholders across Ekiti State, including but not limited to political associations, traditional institutions, Civil Servants, civil society groups and above all, our party members across the 2,225 polling units, 177 wards, 39 LCDA and LGs, the 6 Federal constituencies and the 3 Senatorial Districts in Ekiti state, have expressed a strong yearning and equally clamour for him to contest for a second term to continue the good work he has started;
Whereas, it is noteworthy that Governor Biodun Oyebanji has been recognized nationally and internationally through various awards, including the prestigious Silverbird Man of the Year Award and the Vanguard Outstanding Leadership Award for his exemplary governance and commitment to good leadership; these accolades underscore his sterling qualities and the positive impact of his leadership on Ekiti State and beyond;
Therefore, I move that this distinguished Caucus of our great party, APC in Ekiti state pass a resolute vote of confidence in Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji popularly called BAO, affirming our unwavering support for his leadership and his vision for Ekiti State;
Furthermore, I move that the Caucus endorse Governor Biodun Oyebanji to contest in the forthcoming 2026 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, trusting that his continued leadership will further accelerate the progress and prosperity of our beloved state.
In conclusion, I urge all members to support this motion as a reflection of our collective belief in his capacity to deliver more dividends of democracy and to steer Ekiti to greater heights.
