Just In! Ekiti Assembly Issues Stern Warning To Contractors On Road Projects

The Ekiti State House of Assembly’s Committee on Works convened a crucial meeting with contractors handling road projects across the state on February 28, 2024, at the Assembly Complex in Ado Ekiti. The meeting, chaired by Hon. Tony Adaramodu, aimed to address concerns regarding the quality and timely completion of ongoing road projects.

During the meeting, the Committee reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all projects meet stringent quality standards and are completed within specified timelines. Hon. Adaramodu emphasized the importance of adherence to project specifications, accountability, and transparency in project execution.

In light of observations made during the Committee’s recent oversight visit to project sites, two managing directors from construction companies, Dortmund and Co. Ltd and Step Development Ltd, were summoned to appear before the Committee. The Committee expressed concerns about the quality of work and the need for timely project completion, especially with the approaching rainy season.

In a stern warning to all contractors, Hon. Adaramodu emphasized that the House of Assembly would not tolerate substandard work or delays in project completion. Contractors were reminded of their obligation to prioritize the interests of the people of Ekiti State and were urged to take immediate corrective action to address any deficiencies identified in their projects.

The Committee affirmed its commitment to effective oversight and accountability in project management, stressing the importance of cooperation from contractors to ensure the successful implementation of infrastructure projects across the state.
