All students of the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti are to start writing the second semester examination of the 2019/2020 Academic Session on Monday, 1st March 2021.
A decision to this effect was part of the resolutions reached at the 377th meeting of the Polytechnic’s Academic Board, which held on 17th February and reconvened on Wednesday 24th February, 2021.
Also rising from a special meeting held on Sunday 28th February by the Rector, Dr Dayo Oladebeye with Principal Officers, Deans, Heads of Academic department and other key officials of the Polytechnic, it was agreed that all impediments capable of assailing the examination had been resolved.
With everything set for the Second Semester examination of the 2019/2020 Academic Session beginning on 1st March, preparations have also been put into gear for the commencement of the new 2020/2021 Academic Session effective from April 2021
In another development, the Academic Board of the Polytechnic has also approved the establishment of a new School (Faculty) of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology(SAAT), which is to begin full operation from the coming new 2020/2021 Academic Session.
The new School (SAAT) is to commence operation with three existing Academic Departments, that currently operates under the present School of Engineering Technology, ie the departments of Agricultural Technology; Fisheries Technology and Horticultural Technology.
Meanwhile, the current head of the department of Agricultural Technology, Dr. Michael O. Akinola has been appointed as the Acting Dean to actualise the take off of the new SAAT.
The creation of the new school brings to five the number of Faculties in the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti with the present 29 Academic Departments.
