The Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers has rejoiced with Christains in Ekitiland across Nigeria on the occasion of Easter celebration, which symbolises the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The monarchs appealed to them to direct their prayer towards a peaceful transition of power comes May 29,2023.
The Council’s Chairman and Onisan of Isan Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, said this in a congratulatory message to Christains in Ekiti and Nigeria on the occasion of Easter festivity .
Oba Adejuwon said the death and resurrection of Jesus taught a big lesson that all Nigerians, regardless of religions and ethnicities must love each other, make the right sacrifices and embrace peace for the survival of the nation.
The monarch said they should see Easter is not a time to just eat chicken and stay at home relaxing;it’s a time to go out there and let Jesus use you to save unbelievers.It’s a time to proclaim the day of the vengeance of God and to comfort all those who mourn.
The monarch added that the power inherent in the blood of Jesus was potent suffice to solve all the multifarious of crises challenges our country.
The traditional rulers said: “The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is one strong pillar of Christainity that promotes faith and fervency of prayers for Christains, who truly and dedicatedly believe in Christ.
“We also share the view that no problem is too arduous for God to solve.
“With Nigerians having the right attitudes, making the expected sacrifices, embracing peace, displaying unity and exhibiting love, that were glowing traits that radiated around Jesus Christ, all these problems will be tackled.
“Celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus was a time for sober reflection. This makes it expedient for all Nigerians to ruminate deeply on how best we can redirect our psyches and reposition this nation through our individual efforts and spiritual rebirth.
“We are of that opinion that this celebration coming at a time our Muslim brothers are observing Ramadan fast makes it more unique and offers opportunity for all of us to cry to God to intervene in our nation .
“As Easter symbolises hope for Christains, let all of us be hopeful that our nation shall survive these and emerges stronger and better.
“We felicitate all Christains on this occasion and wish them most joyous Easter celebration”.
