The Founder of a foremost non governmental and charity organization, Opeyemi David Falegan(ODF) Foundation, Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan has felicitated with Christians on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebrations.
In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, by his Media Aide, Comrade Adewumi rejoiced with Christians for the grace and strength to fast all through the 40-day Lent. This, he said, culminates in the Easter celebrations.
The statement reads in part, “By observing the 40-day spiritual exercise, Christians imbibed Jesus Christ’s virtues of discipline, love, and sacrifice, culminating in his death, burial, and resurrection for the common good.
“As Christians all over the world and Ekiti state, in particular, celebrate Easter, we must not lose sight of the lessons of discipline, love, and sacrifice which the life and ministry of Jesus Christ exemplified.
“We must be ready to get out of our comfort zone, live a life of love and sacrifice for the good of the greatest number of people. That is why I always say the best way to worship God is to serve humanity.
In the midst of the Easter celebrations, let us spare a thought for our dear country and state; and pray to the Almighty God to intervene on the situations of this great country called Nigeria”he prayed.
The Founder implored Nigerians, especially Christians to use the occasion to seek the face of God for continuous peace in Ekiti State and end insurgency and other insecurity challenges in the country.
Falegan, noting that good neighbourliness, selflessness and patience were among the several lessons taught and exemplified by Jesus Christ.
“As Christians, this period offers us an opportunity to rethink our relationships as individuals, as communities and as a nation. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ typify love, affection and tolerance. It also marked the end of evil and the beginning of good deeds. I want to urge us to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ by positively impacting the lives of friends, colleagues, associates, neighbours and family members,he urged.
