The 1982-87 set of Christ School Ado Ekiti has donated laboratory equipments worth over 1.5 million naira to the school.
The event which took place in the Principal’s office Ado Ekiti the state capital around 9:00 am on Wednesday 17th April 2024.
The executives of the 82-87 set led by their President Professor Folarin Oguntoyinbo said the equipments is a token of appreciation and a way of giving back to the institution which has contributed immensely to their journey in life.
Professor when handing over the equipments said the set is committed to the growth and development of the school hence the need to continually support it in terms of cash and kind.
” We have a program where we give out scholarships to brilliant and exceptional students by paying for their NECO and WAEC and we have also appreciated the teachers because without them students are like sheep without shepherd”.
We are very passionate about the school and our desire is to see it maintain that number spot it has been known since inception”.
He further thanked the members of the set especially the executives for standing with his leadership and supporting him wholeheartedly.
In response, the school Principal Chief Atoba Peter thanked God on behalf of the set while promising that the equipments will be used judiciously.
” I am assuring you that these equipments will be out to use immediately as it will help in Chemistry, Biology, Physics as well as other related subjects”.
The principal maintained that he remains committed to the development of the school ” Christ school is known for excellence and we shall strive to maintain that” he concluded.
The vice president of the set Comrade Sola Adigun who earlier introduced the members of the set announced that due to the excellent performances of the school Basketball team, the set also acquired Branded Jerseys worth over 200,000 naira to support it for it’s recent victory at the state tournament.
” We learnt that our Basketball team won the state tournament and will be representing the school at the national level and in view of this we have decided to support them with this branded Jerseys to further encourage the boys to perform better at in the tournament”.
The vice principal of the school Mr. Olatunde Akinyemi, the HOD Mrs Yemi Akinwande and representative of the students took turns to thank the 82-87 set for the kind gesture and prayed to God to further bless them.
Some of the items donated include: 1 gas cylinder, Bakers of different sizes, Test tubes, hand lenses, 20 Tripods stands, Formalin, scientific charts , Digit balance and many others.
