APC MEMBERS FROM AGATU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF BENUE STATE PROTEST ON THE APPOINTMENT OF A NON-PARTY MEMBER AS COMMISSIONER
We, the All Progressives Congress (APC) members from Agatu Local Government of Benue state met at Ogam in Agatu today 3rd Aug. 2025, to review the activities of the party under the leadership of *Rev. Father Alia Iorhmen Alia,* the Executive Governor of Benue state. The meeting came up with the following resolutions.
In the recent past, the candidate of the Labour party in the 2023 General election that campaign and work against the All Progressives Congress was imposed on us as the chairman of APC in Agatu local Government without consulting with the party and our stake holders.
While we are yet to get over that predicament as a party and the people of Agatu, we again heard
from CPS and on social media that one Mrs. Adamu name has being sent to Benue state House of Assembly to be screen for commissioner representing Agatu local Government without a due consultation with the party and its stakeholders.
We hereby appeal to the Executive Governor of Benue State to reconsider and review this appointment as Mrs. Adamu is not a member of our party nor neither any stakeholder of the party is being consulted on this appointment.
Your excellency, the party politics is about the people without which the party cannot exist and every political appointment must reflect the growth and development of the people participating in that party politics.
An appointment of a non member of the party without due consideration of the party stakeholder is an aberration of rubbing Peter to pay Paul and thereby killing the morals and confidence of the party members of commitment to the party.
It is on this note that we call on our amiable Governor to review the appointment of Mrs. Adamu as commissioner as she is not a member of our party from Agatu local Government.
While we anticipate your review in responses to our outcry and genuine and sincere outburst from APC members from Agatu Local Government, be assured of our commitment and loyalty to the party as you listen and review this abnormal appointment.
