A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Pastor Yemi Olayinka, has emphasized the need for sustained citizen participation and patience, stating that the ongoing reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are aimed at rebuilding Nigeria on a stronger and more sustainable footing.

Olayinka made the assertion today, Sunday during his visit to his ward, ward 8, Akodi odoba by Aremu junction behind Eyegba’s house in Ado Ekiti where he joined party members in the ongoing APC e-registration exercise ahead of the June 20 governorship election in the state.
According to him, while the reforms have posed short-term challenges for citizens, they are designed to correct long-standing structural weaknesses in the nation’s economy and governance system.

He noted that meaningful transformation often comes with temporary discomfort, stressing that the present phase should be seen as an investment in Nigeria’s future stability and growth.
“The country is undergoing a difficult but necessary transition. These reforms are not accidental; they are deliberate efforts to reset the system and place Nigeria on a path of economic and institutional recovery,” Olayinka said.

He added that early indicators already suggest gradual improvement, urging Nigerians not to lose faith in the process but to remain constructive and supportive.
Turning to Ekiti politics, the APC stalwart charged party members and residents to actively participate in the electoral process by registering, collecting their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and turning out to vote.
Olayinka said widespread civic participation would strengthen democracy and validate what he described as Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to development and responsive governance.
“The PVC is the voice of the people. When citizens participate fully, they help to sustain good leadership and reforms that will benefit everyone,” he said.
He further called for intensified voter education across communities, stressing that democratic engagement remains a critical tool for ensuring accountability, continuity, and inclusive governance in Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.

The APC chieftain who described Governor Biodun Oyebanji as an institution which politicians should study saying he is a genius for his ability to bring everybody together from Otunba Niyi Adebayo, the first civilian governor in Ekiti state and all other governors and leaders that are not even members of his political party .
Pastor Olayinka called for more supports for the governor for him to continue to ensure dividends of democracy for the people of the state as he has been doing .
