All may not have been heared about the crisis rocking the state chapter of Social Democratic Party over the impostion of candidates for National Assembly seats as one of the senatorial aspirants for Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Chief David Olusesan Arowolo has vented his anger over the imposition of candidates by Chief Segun Oni in an open letter which he addressed to the state Chairman of the party, Engr. Segun Oni, Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) and the National Chairman, Senator Shehu Garbam.
The senatorial aspirant expressed his displeasure and disappointment over the latest development in the party which has portrayed it against what it stands for.
“Your Excellency, Engr. Adebayo Olusegun Oni, distinguished leaders of the Social Democratic Party, SDP and the general members of our great party. I write to you from a cold heart daggered by the cabal of this great party as they imposed unknown candidate on the people of Ekiti Central Senatorial District.
“I will start by saying, to whom much is given much is expected, betrayal was what I felt, my heart broken not just by a leader I was in love with, but also as I once believed, a true leader. I have worked tremendously for this great party out of no fear of regret, but it is surprise to the entire people of Ekiti Central Senatorial District and Ekiti State in general as this injustice uproar from the unthinkable”
The aspirant stated that the injustice that some of them accused their former parties of dishing out to them was what they were being faced in their new party, SDP.
“Your Excellency and distinguished leaders, it is of note that in the process of joining this great party we all came as an aggrieved members, who had been victimized by the oppressors in APC and PDP, but now it sounds we are from fry pan to fire”
Chief Olusesan described the imposition of Barrister Obafemi Adewale SAN as the party’s candidate as a day light robbery which would jeopardize the chances of the party in upcoming general elections.
He went further in his press release by taking a swipe at Chief Segun Oni who he accused of selfishness and promoting injustice in the party.
“Your Excellency, you left APC because of injustice and unfairness, you left PDP because of imposition and injustice, we can not but say the truth is that, you who had been advocate for justice and equality and, in tinkle of an eye changed because of self gain and this has made it known to the world, that your agitation is personal than Ekiti wish”
The aspirant vowed that the injustice against him and other members would not stand.
