I loathe the habit of joining issues with someone. But it is expedient to drop these few lines on the subjectst matter of INGRATITUDE.
Ingratitude means forgetfulness of or lack of appreciation for kindness or especially a gift received. Gratitude and ingratitude are antonymous, that is , they are words with opposite meanings.
It is a universal phenomenon that anyone who has gone exponentially far in life , no doubt, possesses the requisite condition of GRATITUDE.
On the other hand, if someone is in the habit of stoking the ember of INGRATITUDE, without mincing words, his or her going exponentially far in life will become his or her biggest albatross.
The word gratitude is derived from the Latin word “gratia”, meaning grace, graciousness, or gratefulness (depending on the context).
In other words, gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what an individual receives, whether tangible or intangible.
With gratitude, people acknowledge the goodness in their lives. By doing so, a receiver of a gift always takes cognizance of the fact that the source (giver) of the gift is domiciled at least partially outside the beneficiary.
Put succintly, a simple demonstration of an act of gratitude connects us to further breakthroughs in life — whether to other people, nature, or a higher power.
A mental trip into positive psychology makes it manifest that gratitude is a sine-qua- non for greater happiness as being grateful promotes positive emotions, relish good experiences, improves a person’s health, deals with adversity, and builds strong relationships.
Ingratitude is a plague which must be clinically tackled from its foundations.
Since it is a truism that givers never lacks, therefore, I encourage all cheerful givers to continue their pursuit of happiness via giving. ” Oke lowo a funni ngbe”, which literally translates” a giver will always be enriched.”
Let us all go back to the drawing board and deal a lethal blow to all the trippings of ingratitude in every department of our lives so that we can experience an unusual dimension of God’s blessings through a simple act of giving which ultimately creates an endless ripple.
We should not underestimate what the divisive power of the devil. APC in Ikere is a formidable party. The unprecedented victory at the gubernatorial polls gave credence to the above assertion.
