Petrol scarcity: Falegan Condemned Fuel Scarcity

By Francis Adewumi

The Founder of Opeyemi David Falegan Foundation (ODF). Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan has condemned the scarcity of fuel in Nigeria.

Falegan said despite the claims by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited that the logistic issues causing fuel scarcity had been addressed, Nigerians are still struggling to get Premium Motor Spirit as many filling stations remained under lock and key for almost two weeks.

In a press release issued by his media aide Adewumi Francis he condemned in strongest terms, the lingering petrol scarcity in Nigeria which has caused untold hardships for citizens.

He lamented that the scarcity and price increase from N750 to 1000 per liter have exacerbated the economic crisis and unfavorable inflation rates in the country.

According to him the issue has given the “black marketers” the opportunity to sell between 1500 to 1700 per liter.

Falegan expressed concern over the suffering of ordinary citizens, who are bearing the brunt of the scarcity, and called on the relevant authorities to take urgent action to address the situation.

The Founder also urged the government to find a lasting solution to the recurring petrol scarcity and price hike, which he described as a major setback to the economic development of the country at large.

The Founder’s condemnation comes as many Nigerians continue to struggle to access petrol, with many filling stations either closed or selling the product at exorbitant prices.”
