Monarchs Dance Samba In Brazil- Says it’s Yoruba Traditional Dance

A prominent Samba College in Brazil , Escola Unidos de Vila Maria , Thursday , applauded two important Yoruba monarchs who represented the spiritual leader of all Yorubas, Ooni of Ife , Kabiyesi Enitan Ogunwusi, at this year’s Black Awareness Day celebration In Saopaulo, Brazil.

The monarchs, Oba Ajero of Ijero Kingdom and Alapomu of Apomu did not only sing nor lecture the Yoruba tradition and religious dance , but also taught the Brazilian Yorubas how to sing and dance the real Bata dance.

The monarchs, Babalawos , the President of Ojaja television in Brazil, the media representative of the Ooni of Ife, all took to the stage to recall family ties between Ile-Ife and the Yorubas in Brazil , they surprised the audience with superb dances in the exact rhythms of the Yoruba traditional dances .

In a traditional manner of reception, anchored by the organizing committee of the Samba college , the media representative of Ooni of Ife , Comrade Moses Olafare passed the messages from the palace in Ile-Ife to the Brazilians, the Palace spokesperson told the Brazilians that their collective father is Oonirisa, the spiritual head of all Yorubas anywhere on this planet earth , he said the Ooni of Ife is ready to receive the Brazilian Yorubas in Ile-Ife anytime they wish to visit home .

The Ogboni King in Brazil, Oba Adekunle Aderounmu also thanked the presence of the delegates from Ile-Ife, he thanked the Oonirisa for all he has proposed to the Yoruba race.

The Ogboni king presented the delegates with awards of excellence on behalf of the African Cultural Center in Brazil, he promised to continue promoting the Yoruba culture and tradition in Brazil and around the globe.

The monarchs who thanked the Samba college for the reception also thanked the African cultural center for the awards , they promised to take good memories of Brazil to Oonirisa in Ile-Ife.

The event counted with the presence of important dignitaries , it marked the presence of media representatives from Brazil and other Latin American countries , owners of cultural organizations, foundations , samba colleges , traditionalists of high reputes , local bands , dancers “ This visit is a blessing to Brazil , we hope to welcome Oonirisa very soon in Brazil “ Juliana Negritis told heritagenews .
