A middle aged man, popularly known as Baba Ibeji has been allegedly shot dead this morning by unknown gunmen around Okesa Roundabout, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital.
The man who is one those issuing tickets to commercial motorcyclists around Okesa roundabout was said to have been fired by the unknown men who came on another motorcycle.
Eyes witnesses who spoke with Heritage News the killers ran away after perpetrating the evil act.
“The man was issuing tickets this morning and we just saw two men in a motorcycle drove down to that spot at and Okeyinmi, and one of them came down as he wanted to ask for direction.
“He just brought out a small gun that look like a pistol and shot at Baba Ibeji ones and everyone around the place including the policemen took to their heels.
“Immediately the man shot at him he jumped on the motorcycle and they zoom off. The policemen fully armed later came back to the spot in their numbers”.
When contacted on telephone, Chairman Okada Riders Association, Ekiti State, Mr Kunle Asaolu confirmed that the man was one of those working with the association.
The attack was also confirmed by the spokesperson for Ekiti State Police Command, DSP Sunday Abutu who said investigation has commenced.
Further investigation by Heritage News confirmed the copse has been deposited at the Ekiti State Teaching hospital’s morgue in Ado Ekiti.
