The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has received a major legal boost as the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja reaffirmed the party’s authority to determine and present its governorship candidate, effectively strengthening its internal decision-making process.

Riding on the momentum of the judgment, the campaign organisation of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji officially flagged off its re-election activities with a press conference held at the Governor’s Office in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday.

Addressing journalists, the Director General of the campaign organisation, Cyril Fasuyi, described the court ruling as decisive, noting that it had rendered all pending legal challenges against the governor’s candidacy ineffective.

He said the campaign would be driven by facts and performance, with a strong emphasis on showcasing the administration’s achievements across key sectors. According to him, Governor Oyebanji—widely referred to as “Mr. Progress”—has delivered measurable results in security, economic development, education, and agriculture.

Fasuyi stressed that the campaign would remain issue-based, steering clear of personal attacks and focusing instead on tangible outcomes that directly impact the people of Ekiti State.

He also revealed that grassroots mobilisation has already begun across the state’s 177 wards, with a bold target of securing at least 500,000 votes in the forthcoming election.

Reinforcing the significance of party unity, APC leaders at the event maintained that internal consensus must be respected, warning that litigation against party decisions would not alter the established position of the party.

In his contribution, Babafemi Ojudu commended the prevailing peace in the state, attributing it to Governor Oyebanji’s proactive leadership style.

The event ended on a confident note, with party leaders expressing strong belief in a resounding victory for Governor Oyebanji as the election season gathers momentum.
