If Not Him, Who Else Could It Be?

A Nigerian thespian of note while showcasing his acting skills once explored the semantic of the PhD lexicon in the academic and Nigerian political contexts.

In his attempt to create a comic effect, he simply defined PhD as Doctor of Philosophy, that is, a degree awarded by a university in many different fields, ranging from the humanities to scientific disciplines.

He further tickled the fancy of the audience by euphemistically spelling out the PhD acronym as PULL HIM/HER DOWN.

In Nigeria, the “Pull- Him- Down- syndrome”, permeates every facet of human activity ranging from the local to the national levels.

Without mincing words, our political space is worst hit by the “Pull Him Down syndrome” because it has been a potent tool of negotiation in the arsenal of the political hucksters and jobbers in our dear country.

Regrettably, the forthcoming 2023 Presidential Election has opened a new vista of an unkind political space, where Ahmed Bola Tinubu , the APC presidential flag bearer has been unfairly treated to the full tonic dosage of “pull-him-down syndrome.”

The author of “Emilokan” mantra in Nigerian politics has been constantly and perfidiously engaged by the people he had lifted economically and politically.

“Take him to the pillory” has been his adversaries’ daily hymn. The sterling attributes of our dear own Jagaban have been serially bartered on the altar of cheap political propaganda, acrimony and schism.

The caustic extent to which the Naysayers have launched their campaigns of innuendo against Tinubu’s political ambition cum his laudable achievements is intense.

One of such political Iagos punctured my tears’ lobes with his epistle of ingratitude towards Ahmed Bola Tinubu, his benefactor.

Haba! Why does the Nigerian political space thrive in treachery and mudslinging?

The good news is that Ahmed Bola Tinubu is a light lit on the mountain tops that not be hidden! “ Awon olofo ti nbinu ologo”, meaning, the ruined individuals who are envious of the child of destiny. The Jagaban of Nigeria’s politics, “eyin lokan” (it is your time), therefore, carry go joo!

It is like restating an obvious fact that Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s enviable scorecard has auspiciously situated him on the positive side of the scale of good governance.

No doubt, he is the greatest and most suitable PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL among the presidential hopefuls. He is an aspirant to beat in the 2023 presidential elections!

Apart from the fact that his intimidating track record as a former Senator, political activist and the one-time Lagos State governor showed that he is a superbly talented and skillful human builder and material resources manager, Ahmed Bola Tinubu is a Commander- in- Chief of an army of Stars in every department of human life.
