* WRONG: This is the first time I’m here.
RIGHT: : This is the first time I have been here.
* WRONG: I have told you what I know.
RIGHT: IlI have told you all (that) I know.
* WRONG: The matter is between you and I
RIGHT: The matter is between you and me.
It is a matter of grammatical rule for any pronoun that comes immediately after a preposition to be in the objective case (‘me’, Not ‘I’ which is in the subjective case )
* WRONG: I am boring in the lessons.
RIGHT:I am bored in the lessons.
* WRONG: I don’t like to be shouted.
RIGHT: I don’t like to be shouted at.
*WRONG: Except Bode, everybody was there.
RIGHT:Except for Bode, everybody was there
* WRONG: According to me, it’s a bad film.
RIGHT: In my opinion/ I think it is a bad film.
WRONG: The police is looking for him
RIGHT: The police are looking for him.
‘The police’ will always take a plural verb. But the policeman or woman is …./the policemen or women are ….
