The Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) has appointed Dr Sunday Saanu as its new Director of Communication and Corporate Affairs, a move seen as strengthening the institution’s public relations and media architecture.
Dr Saanu, a seasoned public relations expert and media strategist, brings to the position extensive experience within the university system.
He previously served as Media Assistant to Vice-Chancellors at the University of Ibadan and Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, where he played key roles in strategic communication, media engagement, and institutional branding.
His appointment was approved by FUOYE’s Governing Council at its meeting of January 30, 2026. The letter conveying the appointment, dated February 17, 2026, was signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Mufutau Ibrahim.
According to the letter, the Council approved Dr Saanu’s appointment as Director, Communication and Corporate Affairs, for a period of five years, effective from the date of his assumption of duty.
With this development, FUOYE positions a tested and thoroughbred professional at the helm of its communication directorate, a step expected to enhance the university’s corporate image, media visibility, and stakeholder engagement.
