Ekiti: Iyaloja Monie Again! How?
During his electioneering campaign, Governor Biodun Oyebanji promised Ekiti market women and traders access to opportunities that would prosper their businesses .
Matching words with action , we stormed some markets in Ado Ekiti , Ilawe Ekiti and Ido Ekiti today to inform and enumerate petty traders for the soon to be launched “Iyaloja Monie “.
“The Iyaloja Market Fund” is a Federal Government non-interest loan of 50k for market women and petty traders across the country.
As a Governor who has just earned the State number one in the 2023 Transparency and Integrity Index ranking , it wasn’t a surprise that Governor Oyebanji instructed that the enumeration process must be transparent and must capture market women who are truly petty traders through their various Iyalojas.
This necessitated the Special Adviser on Social Investment , Hon. Yemisi Ayokunle and her team ,and Director General, Office of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Oso- Omotosho and her team , hitting the markets in the company of Iyaloja of each market as well as the Program Officer from Abuja .
