The Federal Commissioner for Salaries Wages and Income, representing Ekiti State, in the Presidency,Dr Mojisola Yaya- Kolade, an APC stalwart, by her evaluation remarked that the voting was peaceful.
Dr Yaya-Kolade who gave the indication in an interview at her country-home, Oye-Ekiti,Oye local government area,Ekiti State, disclosed that there was no rowdiness.
“Everybody obeyed the Law. And we were instructed that if there is no verification, there is no voting, and that informed what happened. I think people voted their mind. Some results are coming already. APC is leading in Ekiti State , I can say that vehemently”. So, we are hoping that in the nation , APC will win and we will see a better Nigeria we are all struggling and working for this better and greater Nigeria”.
She said she voted at around 9:30am at SS Peter and Paul which is in Oye Ekiti. That is Oye 2, Ward 1. Adding that she supervised all the units majorly in Oye Ekiti. I was in polling unit 9. I was in polling 12, 7 and all the polling units here. I drove and walked around, and I interacted and I saw everything, it was very peaceful”. I would say this is one of the most peaceful elections I have ever witnessed in Nigeria. And one thing that made me very happy is overwhelming turn out of the youths”.
“You know Oye Ekiti is a Federal University town. When you have a University town, and you see units where youths come out enmass , you will see something. And as I was going around , I was joking out with them, telling them,it’s your future. It is less of me and more of you. With my age, you know, we all know I have children”. She referred to the exercise as the true election that is a true expression of Nigerians. “This is Nigerian Voice”.
The member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council,PCC, pointed out that INEC’s performance was excellent when compared with previous elections. “There is no way of begging or manipulating the BVAS. The BVAS is excellent. If you are captured, you are not captured. If your PVC for whatever reason did not show, they will not allow you to vote and we the leaders of the party, we are enforcing that,and encouraging that. When I went around, I told them, if you are not checked, don’t vote” This is one of the best we have seen. And I hope this is the beginning of greater things for this country that we all live so much”.
She noted that voter inducement wast zero. According to her, “there was none because standing on line , you can see where they were, these youths , they have their minds. Well educated especially in Oye Ekiti. Thy are graduates. So, they have the minds of their own.”.
