We, the leaders of APC Ikere Chapter convened on Sunday in Ikere Ekiti to discuss the recently concluded Primary Elections of the Party and the Despicable vituperation of the Chairman of Ikere Local Government, Mr Femi AYODELE, on the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Mrs. Monisade Afuye and other party leaders in Ikere.
We hereby issue this communiqué to outline the outcomes of our discussions.
1. We recognize the leadership of Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Monisade Afuye, the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State as the leader of our party in Ikere.
2. We condemn with the strongest possible terms the unprovoked verbal attacks on the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Mrs Monisade Afuye by Ikere Local Government Chairman, Mr Femi Ayodele, in a viral video currently trending on social media.
3. We condemn in its entirety the mindless, unconscionable and despicable vituperation of Mr Femi Ayodele on Her Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Mrs Monisade Afuye in the said viral video trending on social media.
4. The unguarded utterances of Mr Femi Ayodele in the said viral trending video is an act of gross misconduct and embarrassment to the office he is currently occupying as an Executive Chairman of Ikere Local Government and also a direspect to the office of the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State.
5. We state that the barbaric and condemnable act of the council boss is not our identity in Ikere Ekiti and we distance ourselves from him; the unpleasant act of the council boss must be investigated by the party and higher authority.
6. We urge party members to disregard moves by “imposition” elements to cause division and crisis within the party; only the candidates who emerged at the primary elections are recognized and accepted by the party.
7. We lauded the “fair to all” disposition of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and his Deputy, Chief Monisade Afuye in Ikere LGA chapter of the Party and we strongly believe that the Governor would chart a new direction for the party towards achieving victory in the forthcoming Local Government Election in the State.
8. We urge all the candidates of our party in Ikere to be magnanimous in victory and extend a hand of friendship to those who showed interest in the positions you now hold as mandate.
9. We call upon all party members to rally behind Her Excellency, Chief Monisade Afuye and our candidates and provide them with unwavering support to ensure victory at the polls.
