BREAKING NEWS! Accord Party Governorship Candidate, Falegan Backs Tinubu for Second Term

The Governorship Candidate of the Accord Party in Ekiti State, Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan (ODF), has formally declared his adoption and endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, citing his bold leadership, sweeping economic reforms, and commitment to national development.

Falegan, who made his position known through his spokesperson, Comrade Ajayi Adewale Victor, at a press conference in Ado-Ekiti, described the President as a visionary leader who has demonstrated courage in confronting Nigeria’s long-standing challenges.

According to the statement, the Tinubu administration has recorded notable progress across critical sectors of the economy and governance. It highlighted key reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, which, though initially difficult, was said to have repositioned the economy for sustainability and long-term growth.

The statement also pointed to ongoing investments in infrastructure, including road construction, rail development, and urban renewal projects nationwide, as well as initiatives in education and youth empowerment, such as the expansion of student loan schemes aimed at reducing unemployment.

On security, Falegan commended the administration’s renewed efforts to strengthen the nation’s security architecture to better safeguard lives and property. He also acknowledged reforms in the power sector geared toward improving electricity generation and distribution to boost productivity.

Falegan stressed that true leadership requires taking tough decisions that may not offer immediate comfort but are necessary to secure the future. He noted that the President’s policies are already laying the foundation for a more resilient and economically stable Nigeria.

In endorsing the President, the Accord Party candidate called on the people of Ekiti State and Nigerians at large to remain patient and supportive of ongoing reforms, while recognising their long-term benefits.

He urged citizens to reject divisive politics and embrace unity in the interest of national progress, adding that leaders should be judged based on capacity, courage, and vision.

“True leadership is measured not by populism, but by impact and legacy,” the statement noted.

Falegan reaffirmed his commitment to aligning with progressive leadership that prioritises the welfare of the people and sustainable development, expressing confidence that continued support for President Tinubu would lead to greater dividends of democracy for Nigerians.
