An Award winning Poultry farmer in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti state, Aderemi Owoeye advised Nigerian Youths that the best option for to save the Nation from poverty and hunger and to be self reliance now is farming.
Aderemi whose father died many years ago said his mum is only a petty trader who could not help to solve his financial problems, was why he sold his few properties to start the poultry business in 17 years ago.
He disclosed that he sought financial assistance from family friends and even politicians without any help, which was why he used the N150,000 that he was able to raise from his properties sold to start the poultry farming.
Aderemi who said there is nothing than to be self reliance, and be contented with whatever you have, added that he is happy with what he is doing because he is eating from his sweets.
Aderemi energed third best poutry farmer in Ikere Ekiti year 2017, from Afe Babalola Agricultural EXPO, a program organized by Aare Afe Babalola at Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) campus.The Program was organized to award farmers who are doing well in agricultural production as a way to encourage farming in the state.
According to him, “I can feed myself and my family from it, and I thank God that my investment in the poultry farming has been blessed by God and what I started with N150,000. 17 years ago has increased. Though I still need help.
“But most importantly right now, I am happy that I am self reliance and contented, and I am also contributing to the society by the fact that I employed one person that I do pay salary every month .
“My future plan and aspiration is that I love to be employer of labour in many. I want this my poultry project to be expanded into a larger one such so that I can have many people that I am also paying their salaries from the project as a way of contributing more to the to the society.
“So right now, I still need help from any one that could assist me to make my dreams and aspiration becoming a reality with expansion of my poutry farm here in Ikere Ekiti, so that I can become an employer of labour in large number.
