Ekiti United Applaud JKF, Begin Search Omiponle’s Replacement Ahead Of 2022 Season

Heritagenewsng reports that the Management of Ekiti United fc has heaped praises on the governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi on his tremendous support that helped the team in no small measure during the 2021 Nigeria National League and at their maiden appearance in NNL Super 8 in Enugu.

The Management Board headed by Mrs Funke Babalola at its monthly meeting on Thursday in Ado said the team will be re-organized in line with the best global professional practices ahead of the 2022 NNL season.

While expressing displeasure at the unceremonious departure of coach Samson Omiponle to Warri Wolves FC, the Management of Ekiti United FC says a firm contractual agreement will be established with the set of coaches that will be employed for next season in a bid to avoid unexpected snatching of Ekiti United coaches and players in future.

The EUfc Management says efforts to employ a new Head Coach and a Technical Adviser have begun as all other members of the technical crew are to retain their positions.

At the end of Thursday’s Board meeting, 18 players out of 38 on the payroll of the team were delcared sacked while some players have also been allowed to join new teams in furtherance of their football career

Acceptance of coaches CV offcially began Saturday October 2, 2021 as several top coaches from across the country have shown interest in becoming the Head Coach of Ekiti United FC.

All Interested Coaches are expected to route their applications and CV through the team’s email:
ekitiunitedfc2013@gmail.com between Saturday October 2 and Tuesday October 5, 2021 while the shortlisted coaches are to be invited for interview on Thursday October 7, 2021 .

The EUfc Management while thanking all those who supported the team during the 2021 season urged them to be more supportive next season with an assurance that efforts geared towards raising funds from private and corporate concerns to complement state government’s consistent monthly subvention will be intensified.

Secretary of the Board, Ayodeji Olowolafe said the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development headed by the commissioner, Hon. Micheal Awopetu had given the team an enabling environment to perform optimally.

He assured that the Management is now more prepared and better positioned to take Ekiti United FC to more enviable heights.
