Heritagenewsng investigation has revealed that not all cow meats being sold in the markets are healthy, and not good for consumption.
Findings revealed further that many of the butchers do engaged in selling conterminted and unhealthy cows to members of the public.
Confession made by one Bashiru Bala Zuru, a meat seller and his accomplice, Nawali Bala for their attempt to sell contaminated and unhealthy cow Meats to unsuspected public have further confirmed the heritagenewsng investigation.
To further confirm this, the Civil Defence PRO in the State Babawale Zaid Afolabi told Heritagenewsng on Sunday that in the two suspects were arrested in Patigi local government area of the State on Saturday.
“Around 0850hrs, 18/09/2021 our men from Patigi divisional headquarters, who were acting on a tip off arrested one Nawali Bala a native of Okoloke, Kogi State. Bala was caught with some contaminated cow meats neatly packed inside polythene bags.
“During the interrogation, Bala confessed that the cow meats was given to him by Dantani Jayewu( at large) who lives in Okoloke, Kogi State ” Babawale narrated.
He explained that further check ministry of environment and public health confirmed that the cow meats are unhealthy for human consumption, adding that the suspects will be charged to court after the completion of the investigations.
