Protest rocks FSTC, Usi-Ekiti as Students demand return of teachers

The students of Federal Science and Technical College, Usi-Ekiti, in Ekiti State, have protested allegations of high-headedness of the principal and sudden transfer of over 40 teachers allegedly sponsored by the school Principal Mr Olateji Balogun for not support his inhuman act.

The students who had a peaceful protest at the school premises, led by Students who were seeing carrying placards with different inscription calling for the immediate return of all the transferred teachers and removal of Mr Balogun the alleged sponsor of the transfer.

According to some of the Students who want names not to be mentioned said, since the administration of the new principal, the school, which had hitherto emerged first in local and international competitions, has become a shadow of itself and went ahead to sponsor the transfer of teachers who are not in supporting his alleged inhuman act.

They also said that, the delay in the issuing of textbooks by the school, after several weeks of resumption, was affecting their academics, adding that was why their parents protested last month.

Earlier, the students alleged that their principal sponsored the transfer of most of the teachers who did not support his inhuman act.

The students demanded,that the principal should be transferred and plead that another principal should be posted to the school immediately for smooth and peaceful running of the school.

“We want new principal and new vice principal Mr Balogun is punishing we innocent children.”

It could be recalled that, the parents of students last month protested against lack of basic amenities in the school such lack of water supply, poor feeding and unhygienic cooking environment among others

Report reaching me now, is that the school has been closed down by the federal government to be reopened by November 15.

Parents has been called upon to go and pick their wards immediately for their safety.
