Monarch Asks For Joint Efforts To Stop Cultism And Drug Abuse Among Youths In Nigeria

Youths all over the country have been urged to shun cultism and live in holiness as enshrined in the Holy Bible.

The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti,His Royal Majesty Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, AFUNTADE 1 made the appeal on Sunday ,20/11/2022, while addressing a huge Catholic church adherents who had a special prayer in his palace as part of this year’s Celebration of Corpus Chriti day.

The monarch spoke against drug abuse by youths particularly students in a statement signed by his media Adviser, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi.

Alawe said that it was worrisome that some students in secondary schools have been discovered to be active in cultism while some were penalized with expulsion for such activities in the community.

The Oba noted the trend has been noticed in several communities in Nigeria urging government at all levels, parents as well as religious bodies to join hands in the crusade to fight the menace.

Oba Alabi commended the Catholic Church for it’s humanitarian and religious activities in the community and pledged to always provide the enabling atmosphere for all religious organizations in the town to thrive.

The congregation which included community leaders, youths, the elderly and other members of the church in the town led by Rev.Father Anthony Famuagun supported by other reverend fathers in the the parish prayed to God to bless the Oba and the entire members of the community .
