“Good wine needs no bush” so says the adage. Bimbo Daramola is an household name in Ekiti that does not need much introduction because of his loud, sound and strong pedigree, political history and intimidating profile of efficiency and quality representation.
In his first term as member of House of Representatives, Bimbo Daramola, who many people know as Congressman, was efficient and effective at the Green Chambers; his impactful, pro- people projects and achievements wouldn’t have been easily forgotten.
A Multi-talented politician, Human Rights Activist and Freedom Fighter, Daramola had few days ago, unveiled a plan to return to the Green Chambers to represent the good people of Ekiti North Federal Constituency One in the 2023 General Elections.
Daramola, the brain behind the Nigeria Skits Industry Festival and Awards ((NSIF-A) in his letter entitled: “Conscience, Choices and Consequences” addressed to his Constituency, and made available to heritagenewsng.com, Bimbo Daramola promised to reenact quality and robust representation.
Recall that the former Federal lawmaker is reputed to have attracted the biggest dividends of democracy to his Constituency with the donation of 32-Bed Joan Taiwo Daramola Memorial Hospital in Ire-Ekiti, his country home in 2014.
Little wonder, this very bold and courageous, grassroots man of the people is also believed to have mentored the highest number of youths within and outside Ekiti, in and out of office.
While adducing reasons for his planned return to the National Assembly, the ex-legislator argued that “politics of representation of a people is not what anybody can joke with, as jobs for young people are tied to it. You need the clinical experience and exposure to know where they are, find them and bring them to our youth I did a lot of that”
”As we gradually get set for the party primaries, my appeal to you is that you take a look at everyone approaching you for your votes and remember that you are about to start a journey of another four years, not only for yourselves but your families and indeed our constituency.
“Look critically beyond promises or instructions and directives, look out for reputation and track record.
“The party did not tell me to serve you as I did, I served you the way I served you with all resources available for me because I appreciate you and love you, but above all, because this is who I am“, he said.
Renewing his covenant with the people, Daramola said, ‘you are in my heart, you were then, you are now and you will forever be. That’s why in or out of office since 2015, I have not stopped being amidst you and adding values to lives as much as I could to the glory of God and the pursuit of the wellbeing of you my constituents.
“And of course, you know the story of my pains and travails till this day, may I use this medium to invite you to let us once again get a representation that will lift up the rating of the constituency to be reckoned with and respected for what your representative brings home to you.
“I assure you, the jobs are coming back. Medical interventions are coming back constituency projects are coming back more than you can imagine. Remember we already cannot go lower than we did before”, he assured.
The pan-Africanist noted that many life-changing benefits are attached to it as the people needed to carefully identify a politician with proven integrity; adding that experience had validated his competence, capacity and capability.
Daramola who is well known for his popular saying, “Nitori ojo ola wa”, meaning, because of our tomorrow had insisted that there must be a reenactment of transformational and transformative interventionist empowerment that are tied to good representation which he provided between 2011and 2015 during his first term. He vowed to prioritize this again if given the opportunity to serve.
The convener of Project 60:60:60 disclosed that he had NEVER detached from his people, even years after he left the National Assembly by establishing strong social bonds.
“My dear people of Oye and Ikole, we started this journey together in 2005-2006, when the future was bleak and dreary, I journeyed with you hand in hand, I made you promises that many thought could not be realised. Well, today, you are in a position to check for yourself whether I kept my promises.
“I promised to always listen to you, I did, I promised to always be around, that was what I did, I was not in Ekiti only 127 days in four years, politics brought us together but I exchanged it for relationships bound by pure love with you, your pains became mine.I was as much as possible there for as many as I could in good and bad times.
“Regardless of the social status of the person, we cried together when bad times came, such as when we lost Laredo, and much earlier Uncle Jilomez, Bro Segun Esun, finding solace in our brotherhood and not a political association that does not offer much.” the letter reads in part.
“There must henceforth be transformational and transformative interventionist empowerment that are tied to good representation, to the glory of God all the towns and villages in my constituency will bear me witness on this, pushing the cases of Federal pensioners or matters of interest of constituents are all tied to it.
“There are 360 constituencies nationwide and Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 is just one of them, but a good representation can make you the one, ”Daramola said.
This man is known to be a man with a strong belief, strong mind, strong conviction and a very frank and sincere politician who will never joke with the peoples feelings or welfare.
If is given the opportunity to serve the people again, Bimbo Daramola will not dissapoint them, because he is a tested and trusted leader, who has endered himself into the heart of his people with his pro-people politicking.
