Good news!: FUOYE Promotes 429 Staff in Fasina’s 13 Months in Office

..Even As Late Adeyeye Also Given Post Humous Promotion

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has, since the assumption of office of Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina as Vice-Chancellor, promoted not less than 429 staff, as records from the Ivory Tower’s Personnel unit have revealed.

According to documents obtained from the Personnel unit, the promotion exercise, which came through speedily as a result of the progressive stance of the VC, cuts across the Teaching, Senior Non-Teaching and the Junior Cadres.

According to the Acting Registrar, Mr. Mufutau Ibrahim, the promotion exercise was, though based on merit, made speedily possible because of the selfless nature of the VC, whose utmost desire is to ensure that staff members not only get what is due to them but also become the best they could be.

The document from the Personal office reads in part: “A brief analysis of the promotion exercise, as obtained from the Registry Unit, showed that one hundred and twenty nine (129) of the beneficiaries are Teaching Staff, Two hundred and twenty (220) are Senior Non-Teaching Staff and the remaining Eighty (80) are Junior Staff. The promotion exercise was drawn from various Faculties, Departments/Units of the University.

“At the Registry Department of the University, Mr. Dairo A. Fatuase was promoted to the rank of Deputy Registrar, while Engr. Folasade O. Adebayo of the Physical Planning Unit of the University was promoted to the rank of Deputy Director”

The document obtained from the Personnel Unit further listed other major beneficiaries of the laudable development to include those earlier in 2021 promoted from Readership to Professorial cadre, notably Ekundare Ayodele Ojo of Physics Dept, Babatunde J. Omotosho of Sociology Dept, Ruth A. Gabriel-Ajobiewe of Microbiology, A.A Ajiboye of Plant Science and Biotechnology, I.E Okoroh of Microbiology, Olufunmi Ayoiyadun Ndububa of Civil Engineering Dept, Patrick Temi Adegun of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Andrew Agbon of Animal and Environmental Biology, Adefemi A. Adekunle of Mechatronics Engineering Dept, and Laide Ahmed Sikiru of Physics Dept.

Those now promoted from Senior Lecturer to Associate Professorial rank are Batholomew Brai of Biochemistry Dept, Olusayo Olubosede of Physics Dept, Olushola Sunday Ayanda of Industrial Chemistry Dept, Emmanuel A. Bakare of Mathematics Dept, Wilfred N. Igboama of Physics Dept, Daniel Babasola Adewale of Crop Science & Horticulture Dept, Late Olufemi Patrick Adeyeye of Banking and Finance Dept (Post humous promotion), Modinat A. Adekoya of Plant Science & Biotechnology Dept, Ajuwon Razaq Olawale of Biochemistry and Temitope Seun Babalola of Soil Science & Land Resources Dept.

The VC has promised to continue to make the welfare of staff, especially their promotions, the top priority of his administration.
