Heritagenewsng reports the reason the the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mahdi Aliyu Gusau was impeached, according to investigation.
The Cordial Relationship between him and his Boss, Governor Bello Matawalle went sour in June 2021 after the Governor dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and subsequently decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) but Gusau refused to defect alongside with his Principal.
He was removed from Office on Wednesday by Lawmakers of the Zamfara State House of Assembly after the report of the Committee set up by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Kulu Aliyu to probe the Deputy Governor.
However, according to a news report, Twenty out of Twenty-Four Lawmakers in the Assembly voted in support of Gusau’s impeachment.
The Deputy Governor was allegedly Impeached because of Financial Misconduct, Insubordination and Failure to perform assigned duties. Equally, he was Accused of causing Security breach in the State.
