Earlier this morning, a delegation of Matured Minds Platform led by Hon. Odunayo Ehinafe was live on People’s FM(101.4 FM) for an interview session on the upcoming one year anniversary of Matured Minds Platform, what the group stands for, and of what benefit is it for the people. Also interviewed on the state of the nation especially the ongoing doctor’s strike is Mr Wasiu Owolewa, a member of the platform.
Below is the excerpts from the interview segment on the motive behind the formulation of Matured Minds
Your name please?
Hon. Ehinafe: My name is Honourable Ehinafe Odunayo, people called me, “Love all cares”
What brings you here this morning?
Hon. Ehinafe: Thank you very much. I am here this morning to let Ekiti know about a platform called Matured Minds
What is it about(Matured Minds Platform)?
Hon. Ehinafe: Thank you very much. The platform, Matured Minds Ekiti was formed a year ago.
What is the motivation behind this group? Is it not a political group?
Hon Ehinafe: Thank you, as I was saying, it is a political group, it cuts across all political parties in Nigeria. We come together as one. Everybody is free to to express his or her mind the way it is irrespective of political party whether APC, PDP, YPP in a matured way. All our admins are from different political parties.
How do you accord your agreement in that group?
Hon. Ehinafe: Thank you very much, before the platform comes to live, I started working on it for almost a year before it was established to talk each person, different political parties that I know, that I want to formulate a platform that will be called, “Matured Minds Ekiti”. That you will be there to express your mind maturely. If you want to tell us that the government of the day is not doing well, yes it may be, tell us why is not doing well, tell us why or what you know it can do better to make it better because no matter what it be, Ekiti is one.
Hon. Ehinafe, can I kindly mirror in my next question(Cuts in)
Hon. Ehinafe: Yes
You aspire to be for one leadership or the other in Ekiti state, what benefits will the people you are bringing into this group will benefit from this platform?
Hon. Ehinafe: Thank you very much, they have benefitted alot of things. One, by bringing ourselves together for example now we want to celebrate our one year anniversary next week to see ourselves physically (Cuts in)
Do you have a date for it?
Hon. Ehinafe: Yes, on 21st of August, next week Saturday live. We are bringing a D.J, we are bringing a lecturer, a professor for that matter from FUOYE to give us lecture about effect of social media in this 21st century. Again on Friday, we are going to the less privileged, we will give them a token after that, we are going to Isaba-Ekiti in Ikole local government (Cuts in)
How many days affairs is that your program?
Hon. Ehinafe: Almost five days. On 17th, we open, that is within the platform, we want to see the feedback from people, how they feel about the platform from each mind of the people that is from within the platform. Everybody can be able to express their feelings about the platform. On the second day, we want to ask them questions, if you get the question right from the platform, immediately we will alert you with good money.
How do you intend or let’s put it this way, how did you* *get people formulated into that group?
Hon. Ehinafe: Thank God for my life, anyway because I am across the board, I know right and I know the left, I mean from the political party. What I am talking about is that I have been in the system for a very long time. We know each other as long you are Ekiti, we know PDP, we know APC, atleast I know every party beyond but that, I got to them one by one to make them admin in my platform so that they can bring their party members into the platform.
Alright let’s just make it a little bit brief because I want people to have a better understanding about ths Matured Minds Platform. Now when you are talking about what is happening in political parties now like cross carpeting, who will say or they will say that is just a misunderstanding or when interest is changing that means there is going to be something like chaos in the party, let me ask, what danger have you seen in the formulating of this your platform?
Hon. Ehinafe: Thank you, our keynote is this, we belong to everybody and we belong to nobody. That is our motto. We belong to everybody. Mr governor is a member of the platform, SSG, Ekiti Chief of Staff, Senator Biodun Olujimi, Engr. Segun Oni and other important personalities. We want to give an award to twelve people among them in Ekiti state that they worth to be given an award.
What is that one word that keeps you together in that group?
Hon Ehinafe: Thank you, let everyone outside and within the platform to Ekiti Ekiti agenda, we are for Ekiti agenda irrespective of party affiliation. Our agenda is for Ekiti to be developed.
