A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Segun Ajibulu, has given reasons for distributing gifts to his people annually, saying his interest is to see his people happy.

The party Chieftain from Ipao Ekiti in Ikole Local government area of Ekiti State, Nigeria said “nothing can be more pleasing than seeing a downcast heart come alive at the sight of genuine benevolence.”

Ajibulu an American based businessman and politician, disclosed this in an interview with heritagenewsng, saying that it has become his habit to distribute gift items to the indigents annually, so as to make them happy for the festive seasons.

He explained; “it is my habit to make my people happy and bring joy to their homes at festive periods. This has nothing to do with seeking electoral favour but an act borne out of genuine affection for one’s people, with whom you have grown and shared together from cradle. We cannot be born equal, hence the need to check on those that have not really measured up and make them happy.”

“I am happy whenever my people are happy, I hate to see them in sober mood. Home or abroad, I have made it my habits to distribute gift items to them, so as to bring joy to their homes at festive periods.

“I was in Nigeria in December but that will.not mean I shod not do what I have signed with history, hence, I sent 400 bags of rice, money and other gift items to the widows and other under-privileged in Ipao Ekiti, my community. These are to be shared irrespective of their political affiliations.

“It is an annual event, put together to smoothen the wrinkled faces of the deprived and it is done during festive seasons.

The former Commissioner in the Ekiti State Pension Commission, declared further that his gesture had nothing to do with pending elections in the state.
” I didn’t do it because of election, no! I did it because I love to see my people happy and nothing more,” he stressed

He noted that; “I am committed to my people first. I love my people, election or no election, I will always strive to make my people happy in my own little ways,”Ajibulu declared.
