Why DSS In Ekiti Deserves Commendation- Rt. Hon. Aribasoye

The Ekiti State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt.Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye has commended the Department of State Security for its unwavering support in maintaining peace, security, and stability within the state.

The Speaker, accompanied by the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Babatunde Lawrence; Clerk of the House, Mr.Tola Esan and others, gave the commendation during a visit to the office of the Director of the Department of State Security, Ekiti State Command, Mr. Bolade Olori, to express gratitude for the cordial working relationship between the Assembly and the command in time past.

Aribasoye who stated that the purpose of the visit was to signify the commitment of the legislature to keep maintaining a strong relationship with the organization and other security agencies for the betterment of Ekiti State, also expressed its intention of strengthening the partnership between the House and the DSS to foster a more secure and prosperous environment for the people.

The Speaker while describing the level of professionalism of the DSS as topnotch, also commended them for the pivotal role of intelligence gathering, counter-terrorism operations, and protection of critical national infrastructure. He however, called for effective collaboration and proactive measures among all relevant stakeholders and agencies of government in combating crime, maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of residents of Ekiti State.

In his remarks, the Director of the Department of State Security, Ekiti State Command, Mr.Bolade Olori, appreciated the Speaker for the visit and congratulated him on his emergence as Speaker of the 7th Assembly, describing it as a testimony of his capacity to serve.

Olori pledged to continue working hand in hand with the Ekiti State House of Assembly in preserving the peace and security of the state.

The Director, Department State Security while advising on how to generate more revenue for running of government businesses, called on the legislature and the state government to look inwards on how to participate more in the operations of the mining sector, rather than leaving it in the hands of illegal miners.
