WHO DO YOU THINK I AM?

By Toyin Elizabeth

It’s funny how fast men change sides.
Humans see you, not the way you truly are but from the perspective of their thoughts towards you.

You can be hated for what you know nothing about, just because they thought you did, emphasis on their thoughts.

Have you read the story of Paul, how some strangers thought he was a murderer, and how they switched to assuming he was a god in the same instances? Men won’t care to know why, how, or where of a thing before they conclude about you.

Even Jesus asked His Disciples, who do people say I am? After hearing them talk, he asked them personally, Who do you think I am?

I have been in a gathering where a stranger came in to seek assistance only for her to turn her back and someone defined her whole life even without knowing her name or meeting her before. You would have believed the story if you were not aware the storyteller was also seeing her for the first time.

Seeking Men’s validation is many times a waste of time. Only you and your inner being know your true intention. They choose the side they want to choose, not because they know you, or they have seen you from all sides.

Have you been hurt due to what people choose to think of you?
I pray you heal and have the strength to live above humans’ validation.

Do you change sides based on what you believe about someone even when it might not be true?
Change, you are doing more hurt than you know.
