At a recent leadership development service, Pastor W.F Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry spoke to his members on “Return, Renew Your Life And Ministry At Bethel.” In one of his sub-topics, he spoke on “Direct commandment: remember the God of all blessings” and gave them one important thing they must always remember.
He said, “The Lord called Jacob to remember what he was before God. The same thing is applicable to you in your life, remember what you were before salvation, remember what you were after Salvation and return back to bethel.” He said that you need to remember the blessings of God, remember what He has done and return. That is the commandment of God.
According to him, Jacob was remembering what he was in the past, he was remembering what he was before he returned back to Bethel, he remembered the truth he had, he remembered how he saw God and how God spoke to him, and he remembered how an angel met him.
So God wants us to remember what He has done for us since we met Him at the experience of Bethel.
Finally, he said, “Maybe you have lost your first experience, and now all those consecration and commitment you have before have faded away if you look at all the vows you have made since the time of your bethel and you look at yourself today and you’re not where you should be, the Lord is telling you to repent and come back to where God wants you to be spiritually.
And the same conviction we have years before, we are coming back to those experiences of bethel.” God will help us in Jesus’ name.
