The Progressive Youth Movement of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has declared not to allow themselves to be sidelined nor marginalized in the running of the party any longer.
The youth at a southwest town meeting held in Ado-Ekiti weekend, with the theme: “Ready to lead, Now or Never”, saying they would continue to make sure that things are put inorder so that Nigerian youths did not suffer more pains.
The Chairman, Youth Progressive Movement, Princess Zahra Mustapha Audu, said “the party that we see today is not the party they toiled and work hard to build with their sweat, blood and money”.
Princess Audu, said all young people are coming together to speak with one voice to take back the party, hence the town hall meeting”.
She added, “we must continue to make intentional steps towards our goals to put the party on the right track”
According to her, “we would be an integral part in deciding whi the next President of Nigeria would be, who the next National Chairman of APC would be, that is our goals for the party”
“we are not going to allow those who come and make promises and failed in our party. We must put the right people within the party and we must produce the right President for the country and we must retain the President in APC”
Princess Audu, noted that currently the movement can boost of over 20 million members and still counting , adding that the “talk about future leaders of tomorrow is today. Tomorrow has come and today is now for the youths of the country and they are ready to take power”
“we are truly behind every young voices that are clamouring for change in Nigeria, enough is enough, we are suffocating, we need this change now”
Also speaking at the APC town hall meeting among others, Engr. Adekunle Martin’s, pointed out that the purpose of the gathering is for the future of the youths.
He urged them to begin to assume responsibility and recognition as young stakeholders that are relevant to make a difference in societal change in the party.
Various stakeholders from the north, south, east mostly youths, government representatives, party members attended the southwest meeting.
