The students of the Obafemi Awolowo University (O A U) Ile Ife, Osun State have been urged to discover their God’s giving talents at the right tender age rather than wasting their precious time on frivolous things that cannot positively bring them to limelight.
This was the submission of the Veteran Actor, Fatai Oodua popularly known as Lalude who was invited as the Chief Priest at the recent induction of the newly admitted students into the department of Linguistics and African Language of the University.
While speaking with our reporter, Ayodeji Ogefila, Lalude who cited himself as an example said that he discovered himself in acting at a tender age, when he used to pen down some useful write ups at age 19 and those write ups were used when he featured in some popular yoruba films like ‘Ogbori Elemeso’ at age 30 among others.
The Veteran Actor encouraged the students to focus more on their studies, discover and exploit their talents to succeed in life.
Some cultural displays in the event were, presentation of ‘Yorùbá Ronú film’, Ìjálá, Eré Ọdẹ, Sàngó Pípè, Ọ̀sun Bíbọ and lots more.
Meanwhile, dignitaries present at the event were, the head of the department, Dr. W. A Jayeola, Professor Ajibade, Professor Ogunwale, Dr. Mrs Adeola Faleye, Dr. Bamigbade, Dr. Akinwumi, Dr. Olodude, Dr Adeniyi, Dr. Mrs Okotie, Mr. Ọtun, Miss Opadotun, Director of Culture Aare Olaniyi Olalekan, President of the department Mr Abiodun Toheeb among others.
However, Lalude was accompanied by the following notable artists, Hon. Lalaa, Chief Ibikunle Taiwo ArugboBoisi, Hon. Ibrahim Olamilekan Akewi Agbaye, Hon. Ishola Ajikewi, Chief Ifagbensola Awurela Agbaye.
