Based on the feedback received from the general public that those who sell chickens 🐓 , turkeys 🦃 by the road side around Ijigbo, Oja Oba ,Old garage Ado Ekiti during festive period cause traffic grid lock dangerous to other road users and shoppers, the Office of Community Communications in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry embarked on a sensitization tour around the affected areas last Saturday.
The Commissioner , Mrs Tayo Adeola and DG , Mrs Mary Oso Omotoso also went to the new Shasha BAO to meet with the traders and created a more comfortable space for the road side bird sellers .
This was also followed up with one on one engagement with leadership of the markets on Monday.
We appealed to the road side bird sellers who usually come out for the sales early in the morning and late in the evening, to move to the new Shasha BAO in Agric Olope where running water , toilets , security, lights and other facilities have been provided .
At Shasha BAO , all food items needed for Xmas and new year are sold there at wholesale and retail .
There is enough space for parking of vehicles .
Okada riders , mini buses (akoto ) and keke Maruwa ply the roads to the market.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji is putting up every supportive measure for small business owners / petty traders to thrive in Ekiti State .
