TUC Re-Elects Comrade Sola Adigun As Chairman

Heritagenewsng.com reports that, Comrade Sola Adigun has been re-elected as the chairman of the Trade Union Congress TUC, Ekiti State Council.

Adigun and other executive committee members were elected unopposed by members of the union during the 5th Triennial Delegate Conference of the union.

The new executives are expected to pilot the affairs of the union for another three years.They are COM. OLUSOLA OMOLEYE, V.CHAIRMAN 1, COM. OLABIWONU, V.CHAIRMAN 2, COM. YOMI PETERS
SECRETARY, COM. AKANDE KOLAWOLE, TREASURER, COM. MAKANJUOLA CORNEULUS, P.R.O, COM. OLUWAFEMI ANTHONY ABIODUN, FIN SECRETARY, COM. LATEEF OLADAPO, AUDITOR, and COM, OMOLOLA FAROTIMI, AUDITOR 2
Others are COM. ARIGBEDE ANTHONY AYODEJI, ASS SECRETARY, COM. KEMI OGUNDELE, CHAIPERSON WOMEN COMMISSION.

Performing the ceremony, the National President of TUC, Com. Quadri Olaleye represented by Dan Ehiagwina commended members of the union for their comportment and urged the new leaders to lead well.

He called on the Federal Government to address the current state of insecurity in the country.

In his acceptance speech, the new TUC chairman, Comrade Sola Adigun thanked God for the new height and appreciated the support of all members of the union.

He promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by taking the union to a greater level and do everything possible to improve on the welfare of workers in Ekiti State.

Adigun called on the incoming administration in the state not to appoint green horn as Commissioner or special adviser on labour matters as such move will be rejected by the Congress.

Earlier in his welcome address,the union leader explained that he in conjunction with other labour leaders in the state secured the payment of two arrears of salary and the implementation of 2015 and 2016 promotion was achieved.

He called on the state government to expedite action on the non- remittance of arrears of salary and cooperative deductions to the various workers’ cooperative association.

Earlier, some leaders of various unions including NLC, JNC, NULGE and government representatives who attended the programme had showered encomium on Comrade Adigun describing him as a unionist with difference.
