The Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, for their efforts to eradicate poverty among widows and the less privileged. Dr. Adubiaro made this commendation on Sunday at the food distribution, empowerment, education support, and healthcare service delivery program organized by Channel For Widow Relief Initiative (CFWRI) for 100 widows, orphans, and needy women at Fakeye Hall, Awo-Ekiti, in Irepodun-Ifelodun Local Government.
She also applauded the efforts of Ekiti State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Olayemi Oyebanji, for various empowerment programs initiated through her office for widows and the less privileged in the state. Dr. Adubiaro emphasized that both federal and state governments are working tirelessly to reduce poverty rates among Nigerians to the barest minimum.
While commending the federal and state governments’ efforts to reduce poverty among widows and the less privileged, she urged government officials in charge of empowerment programs to be honest and transparent in their duties. “The government is trying its best, from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and First Lady Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji. However, government officials responsible for these programs must be honest and ensure that the efforts reach those who need them most.”
Dr. Adubiaro praised the program initiators for giving back to their community and encouraged other wealthy individuals to follow suit. “I commend CFWRI for this empowerment program, a laudable initiative that should be emulated by other worthy sons and daughters of Awo-Ekiti.”
The event culminated in the presentation of an Award of Recognition and gift to the SSG by CFWRI for her support and contributions.
