SWAN Ekiti Felicitates Owoseni, Others On Feat At National Sporting Federations’ Boards

Heritagenewsng reports, the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN) Ekiti state chapter has felicitated all indigenes of Ekiti state on the Boards of various Sporting Associations in Nigeria as they are inaugurated today in Abuja.

The SWAN Chairman, Qozeem Oladapo in a statement issued in Ado wished all Ekiti indigenes who have been elected to serve in one Sporting Association or the other the best in their endeavours with a call on them to prioritize the development of the various sports in the Ekiti state.

He congratulated former Permanent Secretary in the ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Yemi Owoseni who has emerged as the International Representative on the Board of the Nigeria Tennis Federation-NTF having previously served two terms as 1st Vice President of the Federation.

Oladapo expressed optimism that the new position of Mr Owoseni will bring about international sponsorship for tennis championships in Ekiti based on his prowess at attracting national and local sponsors towards previously held championships in Ekiti state.

Mr Yemi Owoseni is also the current Vice president of the Confederation of Africa Zone 2.

He also congratulated other Ekiti indigenes including Prof.Patrick Oyeniyi who was elected into the Board of the Nigeria Rowing and Canoeing Federation and Dr Collins Aribamikan who was elected into the Board of the Baseball and Softball Federation.

SWAN prayed God’s guidance for them in the discharge of their duties while expressing hope that Sports Administrators in the state will give them the necessary support to develop the various sports.

The body of Sports Journalists also urged those who contested but lost the national Sporting Association elections not to be deterred rather continue to work towards developing sports in their own little capacity.
