Student unions and youth bodies in Ekiti state have passed a vote of confidence on the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
In a communique issued at the end of the meeting they had with the Senior Special Assistant(SSA) to Ekiti state Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Olufemi Joshua Aduloju at the Governor’s office on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti, the student and youth bodies applauded the Governor and his deputy, Chief Monisade Afuye for pathing inclusive shared prosperity.
The youths and students bodies which included, National Youth Council of Nigeria(NYCN), Nigeria Youth Congress(NYC) and Federation of Ekiti State Students’ Union(FESSU) also congratulated the President and Vice President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima on their electoral victory in the election held on the 25th of February 2023.
The unions expressed their confidence that Nigeria is on the right path to greatness with the newly elected leaders. They also declared their support for all the 26 House of Assembly candidates in the forthcoming election.
The Youth and Student leadership in their communique tabled some demands before the government which included, restoration of the power outage in EKSU, restoration of network services in Oye and Ikole Ekiti, transportation services for campus route and bursaries and scholarship for indigent students.
In conclusion, the SSA on special duties, Olufemi Aduloju thanked the student and youth leadership for their support and usual readiness to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in the state and promised to deliver their communique to the Governor.
