A church located around the newspaper circulation center of Okeyinmi in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital, has been allegedly fortified with black margical power, (juju) to prevent incessant robbery attack on the church. This allegedly happened after an overnight robbery attack on the church.
Heritagenews gathered that suspected armed robbers had burgled the church along with other 4 churches located in the area at mid-night on Wednesday and carted away the church bells, and other church properties.
Volunteers who spoke under anonymity to heritagenews alleged that: “the burglars’ target was actually to steal the church bells, because in all the churches they raided overnight, it was discovered that the burglars carted away all their bells.
“Although, in others churches, they stole some other church equipments, musical instruments, among others but they made sure they equally went with the bellI because we heard that any old church bells now cost for N1 million naira, we learnt that ritualists and yahoo Boys do buy it for 1 million Naira”. He added.
The development reportedly made the church pastor to laze the window where the robbers broke through into the church with powerful charms apparently to deal with the perpetrators.
Another eye witness residing around the church who preferred not to be identified said she saw the pastor of the church with some elderly men who brought the charm to the church in the early hours of Wednesday.
“The elderly men with the pastor were chanting incantations before they finally placed the juju on the window of the church.
“I believe the purpose of doing that is to cause negative effect on the people who came to burgle the church”, the woman stated.
All effort to speak with the pastor of the church proved abortive as his his numbers were switched off at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, unrelenting efforts are still ongoing to have an interview with the church pastors and this would be reported as soon as possible.
