A Nigérian deacon and one of the founders of the Yoruba group , Egbe Omo Oodua ( Brazil Chapter) Ogbeni Peter Adeogun has been stabbed to death in Johanesburg , South Africa .
The Yoruba leader who lived several years in Brazil before relocating to South Africa was stabbed by three armed men who attacked him while arriving his residence in the metropolitan city of Johanesburg.
According to eye witnesses , he was not given the chance to survive the stabs . He was rescued by his neighbors who saw him screaming after several stabs but could not survive the pains . He died before arriving the hospital.
Ogbeni Peter Adeogun , together with other Yoruba elders founded the Yoruba socio-cultural and ethnic group in Brazil about 20 years ago.. “ He has been an extraordinary person who loved his people while he lived in Brazil.

He thought it necessary that the Yorubas in diaspora should have a common group , he initiated , along with other members , the idea of founding Egbe Omo Oodua , a solid group that is still waxing stronger in Brazil . The father of many children , Deacon Peter Adeogun was about handling his daughter over for marriage in Nigeria this December . He was untimely robbed of his life by bandits who claimed to be sensible businessmen in South Africa “ This is how they kill Nigerians without a remorse. It is sad that our country pushed us to these difficulties. If Nigeria is good , what are we doing in a nonsense country like South África . This is horrible “ Chief Chinedu Okafor told Heritagenews.

The deceased is expected to be buried in South Africa.
